Along the Rock: S3 Ep 122-Inside Wellspring Medical Spa: Innovative Treatments for Mental Health, Weight Loss & Wellness

Hosted by Kierstyn Long, Article by Sara Bellows
On this episode of Along the Rock, host Kierstyn Long visited Wellspring Medical Spa in Dixon to speak with founder, medical director, and aesthetic nurse practitioner Jordanna Devine about the practice’s growing focus on whole-body wellness and the innovative treatments now available locally.

Devine founded Wellspring Medical Spa in 2020 while working as a nurse practitioner during the COVID-19 pandemic. After years of caring for patients in a walk-in clinic setting, she wanted to create a practice centered on proactive wellness and helping people feel their best. She began with a single treatment room inside a local salon, offering Botox and medical-grade chemical peels.

Community response quickly allowed the practice to grow, eventually becoming a full-time business that now offers a wide range of aesthetic, wellness, and medical services.

While aesthetics remain an important part of the practice, Wellspring has expanded into medical weight loss, body contouring, hormone therapies, IV infusions, vitamin injections, and mental wellness treatments. Devine said one of her goals has been bringing advanced services to the Sauk Valley so patients do not have to travel to larger cities for specialized care.

One of the newest additions to the practice is Exomind, an FDA-cleared transcranial magnetic stimulation treatment designed to support mental wellness. The technology uses gentle magnetic pulses near the forehead to help stimulate neural pathways associated with depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress, and unhealthy behavioral patterns.

The treatment aims to help patients break out of negative thought patterns and improve their ability to make positive lifestyle choices. Devine explained that many people understand the importance of healthy habits but struggle to change long-established behaviors, and Exomind offers another tool to support those efforts.

The practice also offers Emsculpt, a body contouring treatment that uses muscle stimulation and heat to reduce fat while building muscle. According to Devine, the treatment can improve muscle tone, strengthen the core, support posture, and help patients feel stronger in their everyday lives.

For patients participating in medical weight loss programs, Emsculpt can help preserve or rebuild muscle mass while reducing fat. Devine said many patients who have lost significant amounts of weight have experienced dramatic changes in body composition and confidence after incorporating the treatment into their wellness plans.

Another device available at Wellspring is the Emsella chair, which focuses on pelvic floor health. The treatment uses magnetic stimulation to strengthen pelvic floor muscles while patients remain fully clothed during a 30-minute session.

The treatment has benefited a wide range of patients, including younger mothers experiencing bladder leakage after childbirth and men recovering from prostate surgery. Improved pelvic floor strength can reduce symptoms of incontinence and help patients regain confidence and return to activities they previously avoided.

Throughout the conversation, Devine emphasized the connection between physical health, confidence, and mental well-being. Whether patients seek help with body composition, pelvic health, weight management, or mental wellness, the goal remains the same: improving quality of life.

Wellspring Medical Spa will host its first Wellness Retreat on July 8 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The complimentary event will feature demonstrations of the practice’s wellness devices, educational sessions about available services, and opportunities for attendees to learn more about treatments including medical weight loss, testosterone replacement therapy, IV infusions, vitamin injections, and mental wellness services.

Appointments for demonstrations are encouraged, although walk-ins are also welcome.
