Several popular events are returning, including Belson Music Fest, Eats and Beats, Art in the Park, and the city’s Independence Day celebration. These events continue to serve as cornerstones of summer in Rock Falls, offering live entertainment, local vendors, and family-friendly activities along the riverfront.
The summer kicks off with Belson Music Fest on June 6 from 11:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., featuring a diverse lineup of music that leans heavily into rock, blues, and Latin influences. The event continues to evolve musically while maintaining its reputation as a community favorite.
The following weekend introduces a new event, Salute to America 250, set for June 13 and June 14 at the RB&W District. The two-day celebration will commemorate the nation’s 250th anniversary with Civil War reenactments, artillery demonstrations, historical presentations, and live music. A portrayal of Abraham Lincoln will also be featured, allowing attendees to engage with a key figure from American history.
Eats and Beats returns with two scheduled dates on July 18 and August 8, running from 5:00 to 10:00 p.m. each evening. These events will once again bring live music, food trucks, and a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere to the riverfront.
Rock Falls will celebrate Independence Day on July 2 from 4:00 to 10:30 p.m. The event will include live entertainment, food vendors, and a fireworks display, continuing a long-standing tradition that draws large crowds each year.
In August, the River Chase Weekend expands into a two-day event on August 15 and 16. Activities will take place across Seward’s Park, Centennial Park, and the RB&W District. The weekend will feature the River Chase competition, a kids’ fishing derby, cardboard boat races, a duck race, live music, and a variety of food and drink vendors.
Art in the Park will close out the summer on August 29 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The event will showcase new sculptures installed throughout the park, along with artist vendors and live music, continuing its growth as a cultural highlight in the community.
The episode also outlines updates to parking and accessibility near the RB&W District, including a new pedestrian walkway that will connect downtown areas to the riverfront, making it easier and safer for attendees to access events.
As emphasized during the conversation, all of these events are free to attend, made possible through the support of local sponsors, volunteers, and community partners. With a full calendar of activities spanning June through August, Rock Falls is preparing for a busy and engaging summer season.
