Along the Rock: S3 Ep 98-Classic Cars, Hot Rods, Pancake Breakfast & Family Fun! | 35th Annual Lyndon Car Show 2026

Hosted by Nathan Stahr, Article by Sara Bellows
On this episode of Along the Rock, host Nathan Stahr welcomed Lyndon Mayor Tyler Scott to discuss the upcoming Lyndon Car Show, which returns this year for its 35th anniversary. The longtime event has become one of the community’s signature attractions, drawing car enthusiasts, families, and visitors from across the region to the small river town.

Scott said the Lyndon Car Show offers a unique setting compared to many other automotive events. Held in the town’s park, attendees can enjoy viewing vehicles on grassy grounds rather than spending the day on hot pavement. The park provides shade, benches, and plenty of space for visitors to relax while taking in the event.

Reaching the 35-year milestone is a significant achievement for the community. Scott explained that sustaining an event for more than three decades requires dedication from generations of volunteers and community members. The show was originally started by residents who wanted to create a special event for the town. Over the years, responsibility for organizing the show has passed through several groups, including the Lyndon Fire Department, before eventually becoming a city-led effort.

Scott highlighted the contributions of numerous volunteers who have helped keep the event alive. He noted that community involvement remains essential, especially as volunteerism becomes more challenging to maintain. Partnerships with local organizations and longtime supporters continue to play a major role in ensuring the show’s success.

Last year marked a record-breaking year for the event, with more than 160 vehicle entries filling the town with classic cars, hot rods, muscle cars, and specialty vehicles. Organizers are hoping to build on that momentum and potentially set another attendance record this year.

The Lyndon Car Show welcomes a wide variety of vehicles. Participants regularly bring muscle cars, hot rods, imports, low riders, motorcycles, semis, golf carts, side-by-sides, and many other motorized vehicles. Unlike some shows that recognize only a limited number of entries, Lyndon’s event features multiple classes, giving participants additional opportunities to compete for awards and showcase their vehicles.

Beyond the vehicles themselves, Scott emphasized the connections and conversations that make car shows special. Owners are often eager to share stories about their vehicles, restoration projects, and the memories associated with them. Visitors frequently discover connections to vehicles they once owned or admired, creating a sense of nostalgia that extends well beyond automotive enthusiasts.

The event also offers several additional attractions throughout the day. The Lyndon Fire Department will host its annual pancake breakfast fundraiser, complete with shuttle service between the fire station and the park. Local organizations, including the Boy Scouts, will provide food options, while vendors will offer a variety of products and services. Businesses throughout town often participate in special promotions and activities during the event.

Admission is free for spectators, making it an accessible, family-friendly outing for residents and visitors alike. With a scenic location, a wide range of vehicles, community activities, food vendors, and a rich history spanning 35 years, the Lyndon Car Show continues to be one of the area’s most anticipated annual traditions.

The Lyndon Car Show will be on Sunday, June 7th, starting at 8:00 am. For more information, check out their Facebook page.
