The Oregon Police Department announced it is partnering with the Illinois Department of Transportation, the Illinois State Police, and more than 200 local law enforcement agencies, to step up enforcement efforts across the state in an effort to reduce speeding.
On Monday, July 8th, 2024 at approximately 2:30 p.m., Whiteside County Sheriff's Office Telecommunications received a 911 call reporting a 2 vehicle crash on Freeport Road, at the intersection of Penrose Road, rural Sterling.
On Saturday, July 6th, 2024, at approximately 10:13 PM, a Whiteside County Deputy conducted a field ID on a suspicious person in the 400 block of 2nd Ave East in Lyndon.
On Saturday, July 6th, 2024, at approximately 9:56 PM, a Whiteside County Deputy conducted a traffic stop on Freeport Rd. north Lynn Blvd. in rural Sterling for speeding.
On Friday, July 5th, 2024, at approximately 7:27 PM, Whiteside County Deputies were dispatched to the boat launch in the 22000 block of Moline Road in rural Sterling.

Fulton, IL – On Monday, June 24, 2024, at approximately 4:09 PM, Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office Telecommunications received a 911 call reporting a two-vehicle crash at U.S. Route 30 and Illinois Route 136 in rural Fulton.
Following the shooting that occurred in the Lost Nation gated community located outside of Dixon, Illinois, State Representative Bradley J. Fritts (R-Dixon) released the following statement.
