Cledys House of Hope to Host Community Update Meeting During National Prevention Week

Submitted
Cledys House of Hope, a Legacy Women’s Sober Living Home, will host a Community Update Meeting on Wednesday, May 13, from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Rock Falls Community Building. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m.

The meeting will feature members of the SVVOR leadership team, who will provide updates on their progress, discuss successes and challenges they have encountered, and open the floor for questions, concerns, and feedback from the community. Organizers said they hope the event will encourage open and honest conversation while thanking the community for its continued support.

The event is being held during National Prevention Week, observed May 10–16, 2026, which is dedicated to raising awareness for substance use prevention and positive mental health.

In conjunction with the week’s observance, Tevin’s Tribe, founded by Lauren Metzler, will host a public awareness event on Friday from noon to 3 p.m. at the Grandon Civic Center in Sterling.

The organization will display yard signs honoring loved ones lost to overdose, fentanyl poisoning, and alcoholism in an effort to spread hope, healing, and prevention awareness throughout the community. Narcan and other life-saving resources will also be available to attendees.

Organizers encourage the public to attend and support efforts focused on prevention, education, and recovery awareness.
