Submitted
The Friends of the Hennepin Canal will hold this month's "Hike the Hennepin" on Sunday, Sept. 20. The hike will travel from Bridge 41 to Lock 25 in the Geneseo/Colona area.

The approximately 4.5-mile hike is called “Red Fox.”

Participants will meet at Lock 25 at 1:30 p.m., where they will be shuttled to Bridge 41 to begin the hike.

Lock 25 is west of Geneseo. From Geneseo, take Route 6 west approximately 4 miles, or take Route 6 east from Colona, to 900 E/Howard School Road, off the big “S” curve. Take 900 E north about 4 miles. After crossing the canal, turn right onto 2227 N. The lock will then be about 2 miles ahead.

Participants do not need to be members of the Friends of the Hennepin Canal to participate, and there is no fee for the hike.

The Friends of the Hennepin Canal invites the public to join in the fun and bring a friend. Participants are asked to dress appropriately for the weather.
