Owned and operated by Kelly Schaefer, a former Rock Falls High School teacher, Good News Coffee Co. offers handcrafted espresso drinks, Lotus energy drinks, limeades, hot chocolate, and a rotating selection of homemade baked goods.
The business was inspired by a classroom tradition Schaefer shared with her students.
“Good News Coffee Co. transforms a beloved classroom ritual, students sharing their ‘Good News’ at the start of each class, into a community-centered morning experience,” Schaefer said.

The mobile coffee trailer features a unique “Monthly Rotating Roaster” program, providing customers with premium, locally sourced coffee from different roasters throughout the year. The menu also includes heritage-style jumbo muffins, cookies, and cinnamon rolls made fresh for customers.
In addition to coffee offerings, Good News Coffee Co. serves Lotus energy drinks, limeades, and hot chocolate for those looking for non-coffee alternatives.
The trailer can typically be found weekday mornings from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. along Route 30 in Rock Falls near Karma Salon or in the Rock Falls Walmart parking lot. The business is also available for community events and special gatherings.
Good News Coffee Co. operates Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.
“We want to create a positive start to people’s day while serving high-quality drinks and baked goods,” Schaefer said. “The goal is to bring a little good news to the community each morning.”
