The reunion will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. on July 9 at the QC Waterfront Convention Center, located at 2021 State St. in Bettendorf.
Veterans who have participated in an Honor Flight are invited to attend and are encouraged to wear the gold T-shirt or jacket they received during their flight. Attendees are also encouraged to bring photos and memories to share with fellow veterans.
Veterans are welcome to bring a guest to enjoy the event with them. Upon arrival, attendees will be greeted by the Patriot Guard Riders and Honor Flight of the Quad Cities volunteers.
The reunion will feature music, snacks, Vietnam veteran pins, and numerous opportunities for veterans to reconnect with old friends and share memories of their Honor Flight experiences with both familiar and new faces.
Veterans who have not yet participated in an Honor Flight may apply to be placed on the waiting list by submitting an application along with a copy of their DD-214, DD-256, or NGB-22. Applications are available at www.honorflightqc.org. Applicants should select “Veteran Application” near the bottom of the page, download and complete the form, and mail it to the address listed on the application.
Honor Flight of the Quad Cities is also seeking volunteers interested in serving as Guardians, particularly those with medical experience. Guardians accompany veterans on their trip to Washington, D.C., helping make the experience both memorable and meaningful. Adults throughout the region are encouraged to consider this volunteer opportunity.
Additional information and Guardian applications are available at www.honorflightqc.org.
