According to the IDHA, the blueprint will examine housing conditions throughout Illinois, with a focus on improving the resilience and equity of housing markets. The completed plan will serve as a resource for municipalities, state agencies, nonprofit organizations, and local leaders, helping guide community-specific housing policies and investment decisions.
The authority says the blueprint is intended to elevate the voices of Illinois residents and those who work in communities across the state. Feedback gathered through the public engagement process will help shape the state’s housing priorities and planning efforts.
Residents are invited to participate by completing an online community survey and attending one of several community listening sessions that will be held throughout Illinois. The information collected will be used to inform the development of the 2027 Illinois Housing Blueprint.
The IDHA is encouraging Illinoisans to participate and share their ideas to help shape the future of housing across the state.
