Lee County Council on Aging Hosts Intergenerational Gardening Event

Submitted
The Lee County Council on Aging invites community members to "Let's Grow Together," a special intergenerational gardening event scheduled for Friday, July 19, 2024, at 4:00 p.m.

The event will be held at the Lee County Council on Aging, located at 100 West Second St., Dixon, IL.

Organized in collaboration with the Rock River Garden Club, the event aims to foster connections between senior citizens and youngsters aged 7-11 through a shared love of gardening. Participants will have the opportunity to plant together, creating a bond that spans generations and cultivates future garden club members.

For children whose grandparents live too far away, senior volunteers are welcome to step in and share their gardening wisdom.

The event is free, but an RSVP is required to ensure sufficient supplies are available for all participants. Interested individuals are asked to call the Lee County Council on Aging at 815-288-9236 by Thursday, July 11, to reserve their spot.

Join us for an afternoon of planting, learning, and growing together in the spirit of community and cooperation.
