Nonprofit Coffee Collective to Host Grant Writing Workshop at Sauk Valley Community College

Submitted
Nonprofit professionals from across the Sauk Valley area are invited to attend an upcoming Nonprofit Coffee Collective gathering designed to foster connection, collaboration, and learning.

The casual coffee meetup provides a relaxed setting for nonprofit leaders and staff to network, discuss challenges and solutions, and find support among peers.

The featured workshop topic is “How To Write a Grant That the Funder Actually Wants to Read.” Attendees will learn how to craft a compelling grant application and avoid common pitfalls in the grant-writing process.

The session will be led by Sarah, who has worked in Rockford’s nonprofit sector since 2012. She first served at Klehm Arboretum and Botanic Garden before joining the grants department at the Community Foundation of Northern Illinois. During her 10 years there, she managed the region’s largest private scholarship program, along with numerous partnerships, events, and community collaborations. She will guide the discussion on best practices and answer participants’ grant-writing questions.

The workshop will take place on Tuesday, February 24, from 9 to 10 a.m. in the Riverview Room at Sauk Valley Community College.

The event is free to attend, and coffee will be provided.

The workshop is sponsored by United Way of Lee County and United Way of Whiteside County.
