Betty Collins, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2026, at the age of 78.

Born on April 10, 1948, in Rock Falls, Illinois, Betty’s life was rooted in the town she always called home. She grew up in a lively household, surrounded by siblings, and carried that sense of family with her through every chapter of her life.

Betty was married to her husband, David Collins, who survives her. Together, they built a life filled with warmth, laughter, and support. Betty’s greatest joys were her children—Sonja Cover, Brad (Missy) Adams, Jason (Kayla) Adams, and Cindy (Marty) Bertsch—who will remember her guidance, steadfast encouragement, and boundless love. Her legacy lives on through her eight grandchildren, who brought light and pride to her later years.

Betty is also survived by her sister Caren and brother Terry, both of whom shared in the ups and downs of life’s journey with her. She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, two brothers, and two grandchildren, Kimberly and JD.

To those who knew Betty, she was more than family; she was a constant source of comfort and kindness. Whether she was tending to her animals or sharing stories over coffee, her presence made everyone happy. Her resilience and warmth will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 3, 2026, at McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls, Illinois. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects beginning at 10 a.m., with the funeral service to follow at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Oak Knoll Memorial Park, Sterling.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the dementia unit of Allure in Prophetstown, in Betty’s memory.

Betty’s life was a testament to love, strength, and the simple joys of family. She leaves behind a legacy that will continue to inspire all who knew her.

Funeral arrangements provided by McDonald Funeral Home.
