Obituary-Beulah Yvonne Schumacher

Submitted
Beulah Yvonne Schumacher, formerly of Grand Detour, Illinois, peacefully entered Glory to be with her Lord and Savior on February 19, 2026, at Allure of Pinecrest in Mt. Morris, Illinois, at the age of 97.

Beulah was born on November 29, 1928, in Dixon, Illinois, the daughter of Granville and Margaret (Hummel) Reigle. She was a longtime member of Faith Assembly of Grand Detour, where she enjoyed playing piano in church and held Bible studies in her home for many years. She was a loving mother to her two sons and took great pride in being involved in the lives of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Beulah loved them deeply and found great joy in caring for all of them. She was known as a “Prayer Warrior,” praying over family and friends throughout their lives and trusting that Jesus would watch over them. She enjoyed serving in the church and ministering to many, visiting their homes to pray with them or share the good news of her Lord and Savior.

She is survived by her sons, Dennis (Beverly) Schumacher of Sarasota, Florida, and Gary (Pennie) Schumacher of Stoughton, Wisconsin; ten grandchildren: Jennifer (Jamie) Doyle, Matthew (Kandi) Schumacher, Rachel Schumacher, Bradley (April) Schumacher, Brian (Judah) Schumacher, Lisa (Joshua) Jarma, Lori (Jared) Osborn, Lacy (Joshua) Fisher, Tristin (Melanie) Heisig, and Savannah Heisig; twenty-one great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Bill Reigle.

Beulah was preceded in death by her parents and nine siblings: Dorothy Reigle, Lenore Siex, Marian Saunders, Paul Reigle, Charles Reigle, David Reigle, Elton Reigle, Glen Reigle, and Betty Kibble.

A Celebration of Life is planned for June 2026 in Grand Detour, with further details to be announced prior to the service date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her memory to Faith Assembly of Grand Detour, Faith Christian School in Grand Detour, or to Chosen People Ministries.

One of Beulah’s favorite scriptures is Isaiah 40:31: “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.”

Her family shared the following reflection in her memory:

“When Heaven calls our loved ones home… ‘Let there be laughter, let there be fun when my life’s work is done. Let those whom I love gather together. Let them praise and then thank our dear Father above. Let them find joy in the memories they bring. Let them all see I knew Jesus as King. Let them look forward, and not to the past; help them rejoice, that I’ve gone home at last!’ We will try our best, Mom and Grandma. We love you and miss you already.”

Arrangements were completed by Preston-Schilling Funeral Home in Dixon.
