She was born on March 9, 1952, in Mount Morris, the daughter of Fredrick Franklyn and Ada Mae (Burkitt) Taft. She had worked as a dietary assistant at Heritage Square in Dixon for 12 years. She had enjoyed gardening, fishing, feeding and watching the birds, hunting for mushrooms, going for walks, dancing, sitting by campfires, watching movies, and watching trains with grandson Coltyn.
Survivors include her daughter, Robin Frye of Dixon; son, Steven Frye of Dixon; sister, Carolyn Janssen of LaSalle; brothers: David (Darlene) Taft and Denny Taft, both of Dixon; 6 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her stepfather, Lyle V. Brown; daughter, Tracie; and sister-in-law, Dianna Taft.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 10, 2026, from 11 a.m. to noon at the McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls, followed by the service at Noon. Burial will conclude at Nelson Cemetery.
