She was 47 years old.
Dawn was born on February 1st, 1979, to Janice and Michael Durham in Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Dawn’s upbringing was defined by love for family, dedication to friends, and a genuine compassion for others.
Dawn is best known for her kindness and selflessness towards others. She enjoyed being involved in the arts and the community. Being an instructor at Woodlawn Arts Academy, Program Director for a non-profit for children with special needs, The Penguin Project of the Sauk Valley, and offering her hair, makeup, and photography talents for free, there is no doubt Dawn had an impact on those she came across. Her purpose in this world was to help others in all the ways she desired.
Dawn enjoyed reading, music, theater, and being with friends and family. Her influence inspired a line of actors, educators, and both confident and caring individuals. She is survived by her husband, Kenny Arndt; her daughter, Mackenzie Arndt; her parents, Janice and Michael Durham; her brother, Stephen Durham; and many, many, others.
A memorial will be held at Northside Baptist Church from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on July 18th. We invite anyone who knew Dawn or was impacted by her to join us in remembrance, dignity, and honor.
In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Penguin Project of the Sauk Valley.
