Don was born on August 22, 1933, in Hyde Park, Chicago, the son of Marshall and Lillian (Kidder) Lewis. He married Marilyn Drake in Downers Grove. She preceded him in death on August 24, 2024. Don worked in Real Estate for many years, owning Coachman Realty. He was a lifetime member of S.P.E.B.S.Q.S.A.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Donna Lewis of Woodridge and Diane (Nathan) Bargo of Danville; 3 sons, Mark (Marjorie) Lewis of Carol Stream, Kent Lewis of Tallahassee, FL, and Glen Lewis of Sterling; 1 sister, Marilyn (Walter) Lemmert of Plainfield; 1 brother, Paul Lewis of Dixon; 12 grandkids; 9 great-great grandkids.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 brother, Edwin Lewis.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2026, from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at Wesley United Methodist Church in Sterling. The memorial service will follow at 11:00 AM at the church.
