She was born April 6, 1931, in Illinois. As a child, Donna lived at Peek Home orphanage in Polo, Illinois, alongside two siblings—an experience that helped shape her resilience and strength.
On December 1, 1951, Donna married Kenneth Dingman, and together they shared a devoted marriage centered on family, love, and laughter. They raised three children: Pam Greaves of Baltimore, James (Gloria) Dingman of Sterling, and Kenneth (Julia) Dingman of Rock Falls.
Donna worked as a sales associate for Robert Hall and Swiss Colony before dedicating herself full-time to her home and family. She was a devoted babysitter to her grandchildren, a caring mother, and a supportive wife. Family was always at the heart of her life.
Known for her quick wit and playful sense of humor, Donna delighted those around her with well-timed remarks, home-cooked meals, and memorable stories.
She is survived by her sister, Jeanette Shaw; her three children; and many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Dingman, in 2005; sisters Doris Miller, Carol Johnson, and Sharon King; brothers Marvin “Donny” Scholl and Stanley Johnson; and son-in-law John Greaves.
Donna will be remembered for the life she lived, the laughter she shared, and the enduring legacy of love she leaves behind.
