Gene was born on September 26, 1947, in Sterling, the son of Robert and Ramona (Walters) Harms Sr., and was a graduate of Sterling High School. He worked for many years as an over-the-road truck driver. He enjoyed old westerns, singing, playing the guitar, drawing, and spending time with the grandchildren.
Survivors include his daughter, Valerie (Russell) Baker; son, Justin (Mickey) Harms; stepdaughter, Tina Dahlberg; stepson, Cal Stage (Amber); his companion, Barbara Harms; sisters, Louise Pritchard and Karen Gibson; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Robert Jr, Doug, Richard, and Charles Harms; sister, Skeeter Enright; and stepson, Lucas Stage.
Cremation has taken place, and there are no services scheduled at this time.
