Glenda was born December 27, 1943, the daughter of Louie and Martha (Donaldson) McFarland. She married Donald Bechdolt on January 28, 1961, in Rock Falls, IL. He preceded her in death on February 12, 2026.
Glenda worked at Subway for 15 years until her retirement. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Sterling. She loved God, family, and the Hallmark Channel.
Survivors include one son, Bradley (Cathy) Bechdolt; two daughters, Brenda Hill and Melissa (Tony) Summers; seven grandchildren, Andrew (Lacey) Bechdolt, Aaron (Stacey Weber) Bechdolt, Nicholas (Megan) Morgan, Addison Morgan, Cameron Hill, Kierstyn (Gavin) Long, and Devon Summers; four great-grandchildren, Etta Bechdolt, Evie Bechdolt, Noah Morgan, and Theodore Morgan.
Glenda was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Louie McFarland.
The funeral service will be at 11 AM on Friday, September 25, 2026, at Schilling Funeral Home in Sterling, IL. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral, from 10 AM to 11 AM at the funeral home. Cremation rites will take place after the service, and burial at Oak Knoll Memorial Park will be at a later date.Â
