Obituary-Howard Griswold

Born in Peoria, Illinois, and raised in Sterling, Illinois.

Howard was a Jack of all trades. He had a great sense of humor and always had people laughing with his comical replies. He could easily make friends wherever he went. Howard was a very smart man who knew something about everything. Howard loved the outdoors, especially the water, and was happy just watching what was going on around him. Throughout his life, he also enjoyed boating, fishing, bike riding, hiking, gardening, computer technology, and more. Mostly though, he loved being around his girls, and his family. He doted over his daughters and grandchildren. He was a loving father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. Howard is a blessing held dear to many hearts.

He is survived by daughters Jennifer (Adrian Rodriguez) Griswold, Teresa (Paul) Urrutia, and stepdaughter Tina (Mark) Johnson, sisters Nancy (Larry) Lab, Virginia (Keith) Boyes, and Mary Rice, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents William and Barbara Griswold, brother-in-law Steve Rice, and niece Grace Boyes.

In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Rock River Hospice and Home in Sterling Illinois in Howard’s memory.

A private burial and service will be held at a later date.
