James was born April 2, 1957, in Fort Polk, LA. He married Wendy Cook of Sterling on September 24, 1980.
He was employed as a welder with IFH Group in Rock Falls for many years and later on worked at Mallard Manufacturing. His hobbies included craftsmanship, and he was considered an all-around handyman. He also enjoyed bowling and was part of the league at Rocket Lanes.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Wendy Taylor, and his mother-in-law, Laurel Graham.
He is survived by a daughter, Jamie Taylor of Sterling; a son, Jeremy (Holly) Taylor-Vrhel of Dixon; a sister, Debra (Daniel) Higgs of Powder Springs, GA; and a very special friend, Connie Garrett of Rock Falls.
Cremation rites have been accorded. There are no services planned. Arrangements were completed by the McDonald Funeral Home, Rock Falls.
