On August 21, 1956, a little boy was born to Robert and Faye (Newton) Webb and was welcomed home by three sisters and one brother. At the age of two, Jimmy was struck with encephalitis, which would leave him incapacitate the remainder of his life.
Jimmy filled the lives of the people around with his beautiful voice. His favorite song was “Jesus Loves Me” and would tell his sisters, “I’ve been waiting for you,” each time they would walk into his room. Although he suffered in life physically, he was a ray of sunshine to all who knew him. His family will see him again, as Jesus has promised, and they will probably need to run him down, as he probably will be checking out his new, magnificent body. To God be the Glory!
He is survived by his sisters: Donna (David) Zimmerman of Coleta and Robert (Daniel) Whitmer of Sterling; his brother, Lawrence (Donna) Webb of San Diego, CA; brother-in-law, Harold Smith; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Lynda Smith.
Visitation was held on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at the McDonald Funeral Home, 505 1st Avenue in Sterling. The funeral followed, with the Reverend Roger Carlson officiating. Burial concluded at Oak Knoll Memorial Park.
