She was born on Oct. 20, 19,38 in Franklin Grove, the daughter of Bernard and Jeanette (Logan) Gilroy. Janet worked with her husband at A&G Blacktop. She was married to Richard R. Ackerson.
Janet is preceded in death by her husband, one sister, Janice Giland Roy, and brothers Larry Gilroy and John Gilroy. She is survived by her children, Dawne Ackerson of Byron, John Ackerson of Byron, Monty Ackerson of Byron, David (Robin) Ackerson of Ohio, 8 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren, 2 sisters, Joyce Heath of Walton, and Janeen Latta of Byron.
Graveside services will be on Friday, June 19, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Woodside Cemetery in Lee Center, IL. Arrangements by Mihm-Jones Funeral Home in Amboy.
