Born on October 14, 1937, in Bloomington, Illinois, Jerrie was the daughter of William and Harriett (Patterson) Shankel. She married the love of her life, Evan Kuhlemier, on October 24, 1959, in Rock Falls. They shared 58 years of marriage before Evan preceded her in death on December 29, 2017. Jerrie enjoyed spending her time reading.
She is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Patricia (Bruce) Maynard of Tampico and Kathy (Ralph) Algiere of Colorado Springs, CO; her sons, Randel William (Barb) Shankel of Ashton and Kevin (Roxanne) Kuhlemier of Rock Falls; 1 sister Mary Joyce of Sterling; 11 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Virginia Roysey; her infant daughter, Terrie Lynn.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM Sunday, August 9, 2026 at the McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls. Funeral service will be held Monday at 11:00 AM with Pastor Jason Borton officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Knoll Memorial Park, Sterling.
