Submitted
Joyce Ann Baker was born on February 21, 1947, she passed away on September 11th, 2026.

Joyce Baker (Duncan), of Sterling, Illinois, was a vibrant and spirited woman who lived life her own way. She was kind, giving, and never afraid to be herself.

Her vibrant spirit, kindness, laughter, compassion for others, and love will never be forgotten.

Joyce always found joy in the simple things in life. She loved music and dancing. At a late age, she taught herself to play the guitar and harmonica.

She shared a 60-year friendship with her dear friend, Joyce Fargher. Together, they were like Thelma and Louise—two peas in a pod who shared countless adventures, laughter, and unforgettable memories.

Their friendship was more than friendship; they were true sisters by choice.

Joyce was a woman of faith who knew the Lord. She was ready to go home and be reunited with her mother and her two sons, who preceded her in death and whom she dearly missed.

She can now rest peacefully in the presence of the Lord.

Joyce is survived by her husband, Lance Baker, and her children, Diana Sterk of Idaho, Dennis Duncan of Idaho, and Lauri Hassler (Kyle) of Illinois. She is also survived by her 6 grandchildren, as well as 9 great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at 1:30 PM at Riverside Cemetery in Sterling, with Pastor Dalmus Meeks officiating.

Funeral arrangements provided by McDonald Funeral Home.
