She was born on Oct. 26, 1956, in Madison, WI, the daughter of Donald and Dorothy (Lowe) Herwig. Karen loved to craft, paint, cook, can, rescue dogs and cats, and attend music festivals. She had a beautiful singing voice and won talent contests.
Karen is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Michael Herwig. She is survived by her significant other, Thomas Aguilar of Dixon; siblings, Donna (David) Hinkle of Oklahoma, Jeff (Keiichi) Herwig of California, Deb Herwig of Dixon, and Jon Herwig of Dixon; nieces and nephews, Dale (Carly) Webb, Lee (Jennifer) Webb, Lindsay (Sean) Duet, Stephanie (Mike) Herwig-Pace, Matthew (Samantha) Herwig, Amy (Jeff) Johnston, and Dale (Alyssa Bruce) Hinkle.
Karen is also survived by her great nieces and nephews, Jackson, Lucy, Myles, Dylan, Evan, James, Jacob, Isiah, Tyler, Tanner, Tyson, Jakiah, Jayvian, Audra (Caleb), Dean, Samuel, and David; and great-great-nephews, Aiden and Iver.
Cremation rites have been accorded, with a celebration of life to be held at a later date. Arrangements by the Jones Funeral Home in Dixon.
