Born on September 18, 1960, in Chicago, Karen dedicated her life to caring for others. She spent many years as a compassionate and devoted nurse before retiring. Her kindness, strength, and commitment to helping those in need touched countless lives throughout her career.
Karen cherished her family. She was a loving mother to four children and a proud grandmother of eight grandchildren, who brought joy and pride to her life. She will be remembered for her generous heart, strong spirit, and for the love she shared with those closest to her.
She is survived by her beloved children Stephanie (James) Eckblade, Rachael Theodore, Nathan (Jordan) Theodore, and Colleen Shehorn (David Seaton); her cherished grandchildren Grace and John Eckblade; Kolbie, Jace, Hayden, and Nori Theodore; and David Shehorn and Serenity Seaton; her mother, Margo Owano; her stepfather, Wayne Postada; and her loving sisters, Marilyn (Robert) Wolfe, Linda (Karl) Jensen, Patricia Morales, Jennifer Morales (Frankie) and Audrey Stegman, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will miss her deeply.
She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Morales.
Though her presence will be greatly missed, her legacy of compassion, resilience, and love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation. A private family service will be held at a later date.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who offered love, support, and prayers during this difficult time.
