She was born on May 23, 1930, in Beloit, WI, the daughter of Casper and Gunda (Olson) Strand.
Lorraine worked at Bergner’s in downtown Peoria, Sheridan Village, and then at Bergner’s Warehouse in Peoria prior to her retirement. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Amboy.
Lorraine married Chester Kilbey Jr. on May 24, 1952, in Yuma, AZ.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Chester, on Sept. 23, 2020; son-in-law Ronald Sheaffer; one brother, Lafe Strand; and four sisters, Laura Reed, Edna Stenman, Helen Ramquist, and Florence Johnson.
Lorraine is survived by her children, Kathleen Sheaffer of Chillicothe, Steven (Dianne) Kilbey of Paducah, KY, and Craig (Myra) Kilbey of Chillicothe; five grandchildren, Matthew Sheaffer, Adam Sheaffer, Karilyn Sheaffer, Kassandra Sheaffer, and McKenzie Schlottman; one sister, Corrine Mayo; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Amboy, with visitation beginning at 10 a.m.
Burial will be at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL, on Wednesday, July 22, at 1 p.m.
Memorial donations, in Lorraine’s name, may be made to First Baptist Church of Amboy.
