Marlene was born on May 30, 1942 in Sterling the daughter of Joseph and Marie (Hunter) Cobb. She married David Devers on December 16, 1961 in Sterling. He preceded her in death on January 26, 2013. Marlene was employed as a cook at area restaurants. She enjoyed the outdoors, camping and gardening. Marlene was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church, Sterling.
Survivors include, two sons, Jeff (Trish) Devers of Camanche, IA and Heath Devers of Rochelle; two sisters, JoAnn (Larry) Weinrich of Lost Nation and Cori Ross of Key West, FL; daughter-in-law, Rhonda Devers of Sterling; three grandchildren; five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Brian and Leonard Devers.
Visitation will be from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM Friday, March 6, 2026 at the McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM with Pastor Philip Heuser officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Knoll Memorial Park, Sterling.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established to Rock River Hospice & Home.
