Mary was born on April 16, 1959, in Vincennes, Indiana, the daughter of Clifford and Shirley (Sergeant) Lacy.
Mary worked as a waitress for many years before becoming a property manager in Naperville, IL, and later in Colorado Springs, CO. She enjoyed visiting the Senior Center in Dixon, gardening, baking, cooking, sewing, and thrifting. She especially loved relaxing on her deck, taking in the beautiful views of the Rock River.
Mary’s greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved attending her granddaughters’ softball games and her grandson’s baseball games, where she was their loudest and proudest fan. She celebrated their accomplishments, encouraged them, and always made sure they knew how proud she was of them. Her unforgettable laugh and the love she shared with her family will be cherished forever.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Shirley Lacy; sisters Peggy, Teresa, and Pat; and brother Mike.
She is survived by her children, Jon (Jennifer) Van Fleet of Dixon and Stacey (Felix) Reyes of Joliet; six grandchildren, Alaina, Olivia, Jonny, Ariel, Nicholas, and Elizabeth; three great-grandchildren; and siblings Mark and David Lacy.
Mary will be deeply missed and forever loved. Her family will carry her memory in their hearts, in the laughter they shared, and in the countless memories she gave them.
Cremation rites have been accorded. No services are planned at this time.
