Mary was born July 18, 1933, in Jamestown, KY, the daughter of William and Rohana (Guffey) Ballenger. She married Eddie Loy on November 10, 1949, in Columbia, KY. He preceded her in death on August 2, 2005, following 56 loving years together. Mary enjoyed spending time at the Sterling Moose Lodge.
Survivors include one daughter, Marilyn (Larry) Gebhardt, of Sterling; three sons, Eddie Loy Jr, of CA, Thomas Loy, of TX, and Jeffrey (Blaiz) Loy, of SC; six grandchildren, Kimberly (Daniel) Parker, of MI, Shelly, of IL, Tammy, Crystal Loy, Hope Loy, and Jeffrey (Kimber) Loy Jr, all of TX; many great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, four sisters, and three brothers.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, January 30, 2026, at McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls, with Pastor Jeff Coester officiating. Private burial will be at Oak Knoll Memorial Park in Sterling.
