Gloria was born September 20, 1934, in Dixon, IL, the daughter of Gabriel and Ramona (Urrutia) Padilla. She was raised in Nelson and moved to Sterling in 1948, where she lived until she entered the nursing home currently known as The Citadel. She was the longest resident there and was beloved by the wonderful staff who always treated her with respect and dignity. They were her adopted family and treasured community.
She is survived by her niece, Michelle (Thomas) Martinez-Frank, and her nephew, Michael R. Martinez, both of Sterling.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Seberino Padilla; one sister, Maria “Hazel” Martinez; and one brother-in-law, Robert A. Martinez.
