Mary was born on September 16, 1929, in Covington, TN, the daughter of Virgil Estes and Valrie (Pace) Kuykendall. She married John Dickerson, Jr., on November 11, 1945, in Hernando, MS. He preceded her in death on December 4, 2004. Mary was a homemaker and worked at the Thome School lunchroom for many years. She loved to crochet and sew in her younger years, but her family was her biggest love. Mary was a member of Modern Light Church in Sterling.
Survivors include one daughter, Connie (Jeff) Pursell of Rock Falls; one son, Len Dickerson of Fruitland Park, FL; three grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, as well as great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Terry Dickerson and Johnny Maurice, in infancy; six brothers; and two sisters.
Visitation will be from 1:00 – 2:00 PM on Friday, February 13, 2026, at the McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM with Pastor Brian Tribley officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Sterling.
