Randy was born on Dec. 8, 1955, in Sterling, the son of Keith and Mildred (Miller) Kitzmiller. He married Lynette Johnson (Masini) on July 10, 1982. Although divorced, they remained friends.
Randy did construction work for Local 727 for many years with his dad. He enjoyed gardening, playing euchre, fishing, visiting his friends at the Palms, drinking his beer, spending time with family, and riding his scooter around town, his “Harley.”
Survivors include two sisters, Vicky (Floyd) Wellman, of Sterling, and Karen (Steve) Arians, of Wilton, Iowa; one brother, Mike (Marna) Kitzmiller, of Rock Falls; one daughter, Brigette (James) O’Brien, of Sterling; and one son, Bradley J. (Candy) Johnson, of Rock Falls; two granddaughters, Trinity (Brok) Lewis, of Sterling, and Tabby (Lance) Hebert, of Rock Falls; and four great-grandchildren, Easton, Luna, Emery and Elliot. He also had several nieces and nephews and a special friend, Jeff (Debbie) Nelson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Jean Kitzmiller; and one daughter, Tina Johnson.
There will be a private graveside burial for the family only at Oak Knoll Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held at The Eagles Club in Rock Falls on Friday, Sept. 25, at 4 p.m.
A memorial has been established to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
