He was born July 10, 1944, in Aurora, Illinois, the son of Peter and Anna (Noel) Erdmann. Peter had been a farmer prior to retirement. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Dixon and was a past member of the Franklin Grove Lions Club.
Peter married Elizabeth Stark on July 27, 1968, in West Chicago, Illinois. She preceded him in death on Aug. 18, 2010. He was also preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
Peter is survived by his children, Daniel (Jennifer) Erdmann of Franklin Grove and Karen Clevenger of Oregon, Wisconsin; three grandchildren, Kayla Clevenger, Kendra Clevenger, and Isaac Erdmann; and his special friend, Donata Burnes of Gibson City.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. (noon) at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Dixon. Burial will follow at Franklin Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday, Aug. 3, 2026, from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m., with the Rosary at 7:30 p.m., at the Jones Funeral Home in Dixon.
