Phyllis, the daughter of Olga and Phillip Pulfer, was born on March 23, 1930, and delivered by her own grandfather, Dr. Bernard Pulfer. She married James Shoger on February 10, 1951; he preceded her in death in 2016. Phyllis and Jim lived in many different towns: Oswego, Grand Ridge, Three Lakes, WI, Dixon, and Mt. Morris. Â Phyllis was a homemaker and enjoyed painting and gardening.
She is survived by her three sons, Allan (Crystal), Michael (Margaret), and Karl, and six grandchildren, Jessica, Eric, Nicholas, Jennifer, Kevin, and Andrea. She is preceded in death by her brother, Richard Pulfer.
A private family service will be held on Monday, October 5, 2026, at 2:00 P.M. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Dixon, with a visitation an hour prior to the service. Burial will conclude at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
