Robert E. Mowery, or as his friends would call him, “Bob,”
He was born December 4, 1955, in Lanark, IL, to LaMoine and Lucille (Schmidt) Mowery.
Bob graduated and served in the Army in his younger years, and then he went on to meeting and marrying the love of his life, Lisa.
Throughout Bob’s life, he took pride in fixing and building anything he put his mind to. He was an early riser who liked to always have a project. His favorite saying was, “I did more before you got up than you will do all day.” When he wasn’t fixing or building something, he was an owner-operator in trucking who logged over 3 million miles, and he had received numerous safety awards. He drove all over the United States, and along the way, he met and visited some of his closest friends.
Bob was a friend to all; he touched many people’s lives throughout his life. Bob’s real love in life was his family—his beloved wife, with whom he shared an incredible bond and life with; his kids, with whom he loved to share his knowledge; and his grandkids, whom he loved spending time with and watching them grow. He also had his beloved pet, Abby, whom he called his doggy.
He enjoyed various activities, from watching NASCAR to boating on the river, taking RV trips, golfing, and playing pool.
He was preceded in death by his parents, LaMoine and Lucille Mowery of Lanark, IL. He is survived by his wife, Lisa Mowery, of 47 years; his children, Jeffery Mowery of Rock Falls, IL; Jason (Amanda) Mowery of Dixon, IL; Jena (Rory) White of Sublette, IL; and Bobby Denson of Georgetown, TX; and his grandchildren, Rayven Mowery, Alexis White, Reece Mowery, Lorelei White, Maci Denson, Taylor Denson, and Dylan White; and his three half-siblings, John Merboth of Minnesota, Ruth (George) Lewis of Florida, and Roseanna (Michael) Quinn of Florida; and his two special friends he claimed as brothers from different mothers, Don Voss of TX and Bill Helfrich of FL; and his longtime friend, Dwayne Biggerstaff of AL; and many others.
Cremation rights will be accorded. A celebration of life will follow at a later date.
A memorial is established in lieu of flowers.
