Roberta was born on December 15, 1938, in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of Raymond and Mildred (Shirley) Carew. She married William “Bill” Rhodes on November 22, 1958, in Clinton. He preceded her in death on April 17, 2016. Her career included many years of dedicated service at a nursing home, where she worked in housekeeping. She enjoyed playing cards and BINGO, loved morel mushrooms, and spent quality time with her family.
Survivors include her two sons, James Rhodes and Rodney (April) Rhodes, both of Sterling; six grandchildren, Cody, Randy, Catie, Anthony, Danielle, and Jay; five great-grandchildren, Ely, Laina, Jacoby, Payton, and Michael; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, stepmother, Bernice Carew; three sisters, Elaine Crandall, Mary Ann Carew, and Patricia Burks; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, friends, and Chuck Norris- Last woman standing.
