In retirement, Ron enjoyed spending time on the family farm, traveling with Carol, and making memories with family and friends. He was known for his strong work ethic, love of family, and enjoyment of a life well lived.

Ron is survived by his three daughters, Robin (Geoff) Smith of Dixon, Jodi Murdock of Bradenton, Florida, and Jennifer (Robert) Dewey of Dixon; one son, William (Melanie) Rick of Dixon; two sisters, Nita (Dave) Gall of Bradenton, Florida, and Judy (Larry) Williams of Sterling; nine grandchildren Erin Emmole, Erika Smith, Emily Smith, AJ Murdock, Tiesha Dewey, Brianna Dewey, Owen Rick, Olivia Rick, and Ethan Rick; and four great-grandchildren, Jackie Emmole, Heidi Emmole, Sara Kate Murdock and Talia Dewey.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carol; his daughter, Heidi Jo Rick, who died in infancy; and his parents.
