She was born on March 26, 1955, in Bridgeport, CT, the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Kasper) Notarnicola. Rose’s family moved from Bridgeport to Sandy Hook, CT, when she was young. A friend of her mother led her mom to faith in Jesus, and God used that great event to lead her whole family to Him.
Rose was growing in her faith and wanted to learn more about Jesus. Her pastor encouraged her to apply to the Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, and she began to attend in the spring of 1974. She made many friends there, and in 1975, she met a guy who she said became her “best” friend. After dating for 100 days, they became engaged to be married.
She was not able to stay in college because of family financial reasons and stayed home and began to work. She married Richard Michael Wulf in Monroe, CT, on Aug. 15, 1976. Being in the ministry over the course of almost 50 years of marriage, they moved around a lot. They were in Illinois for the past 21 years.
Moving so much had been a challenge but also gave her opportunities to minister to many people, make many friends, and maintain contact with many people she was blessed to know over the years.
She had several jobs over her lifetime, but her greatest one, she felt, was being a mom. She was creative and also a collector. She had a lot of ideas and an excitement for life until her health began to fail. She developed postpartum diabetes, and after a while, her kidneys began to fail. She had been on hemodialysis for the past three years. With the multitude of health issues, her body had just worn out, and her spirit slowly followed.
She had spent the past three months in a rehab center because of a lack of strength in her legs. She came home on hospice care July 31 and had three wonderful days with immediate and extended family who lived close by to be with her. Her body finally gave up the “fight” on the eighth day of being home.
She will be greatly missed, but her family believes in the promise of God that she is now in Heaven and that her body will be raised at the Rapture of the Church. They have the assurance of faith that they will see her again.
