Born on January 7, 1971, in Sterling, Stacie was deeply devoted to her family as the daughter of Irene and Terry Burdick. She was a proud graduate of Sterling High School, Class of 1989. Stacie’s working years included time at National Manufacturing, caring for students in the cafeteria at Newman Central Catholic High School, and nurturing young children as a daycare provider and preschool teacher at Little Red School House. She had a deep love for sunshine—finding peace in her garden or on the beaches of Florida. She enjoyed crafting and found happiness in giving her creations to others. Her kitchen was often filled with warmth, as her cooking and baking brought her family together. She loved the Chicago Bears, Chicago Cubs, and Michigan State Spartans, and never missed a chance to enjoy a good game and some playful banter.
Above all else, Stacie’s heart belonged to her boys, and she lived every day for them—especially her sidekick, Leo.
Her love lives on through her family, including Rhett, Maddie, and Dax; Mason, Leo, and Bode; and Kellen. She is also remembered by her siblings, Lori Scroggins-Lococci, Kari and Fred Halcomb, Larry and Tawnia Scroggins, Kirsten and Ricky Gaither, and Tyler and Jenny Burdick.
She also adored her nieces and nephews, including Monica, Anthony, and Ryan; Alexis and Austin; Jerrick, Bradley, and Nykollette; and Natalie and Gage; as well as many great-nieces and great-nephews: Averielle, Adalynne, Aynsleigh, Adler, Adelline, Masyn, Landyn, Cohyn, Emery, Isabella, and Kiliyan, with one more on the way.
To honor her life and the love she shared with so many, visitation will be held on Friday, May 22, 2026, from 4:00–7:00 p.m. at McDonald Funeral Home & Crematory in Rock Falls. Family and friends are invited to come together to remember her, share stories, and find comfort in one another.
A funeral service will follow on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with Reverend Thomas Doyle officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in her loving memory to the family.
