Vicki was born in Sterling on March 5, 1947, the daughter of Earl and Veta F. (Breit) Howard. Vicki was raised in Dixon. She married John Surratt on September 4, 2009, in Dixon. Vicki was employed as a CNA for over 20 years at CGH Medical Center in Sterling. She was an avid Bingo player, liked going to the casino, and absolutely loved the Green Bay Packers. To know Vicki was special, she had a heart of Gold.
Survivors include her husband, John Surratt of Sterling; 3 sisters, Judy Walters of Chandler, AZ, Kathy (Jack) Van Horn of Rock Falls and Chris (Todd) Beck of Sterling; 1 brother, John (Beth) Howard of Rock Falls; 2 step-daughters, Selena Surratt of Sterling and Jonna Surratt of Nelson; sisters-in-law Jeannie Surratt and Christy (Gary) Blatz; brother-in-law, John (Beth) Howard of Rock Falls; 2 grandchildren, Caden Erickson and Broxyn Surratt; numerous nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; 1 son, Ricky Nielson; 2 brothers, David Howard and Sonny Howard; 1 nephew, Paul Johnson; her best friend, her dog “Buddy”.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
