William was born on August 1, 1964, in Morrison, the son of Mary Garland. He attended Prophetstown School and also went to Hamilton Tech. He was a member of the Advent Christian Church. He was a big fan of the Dallas Cowboys. He also loved music in all its forms. He had a special passion for working on clocks.
Survivors include his mother, Mary Garland, of Morrison; one brother, Mike Garland, of Morrison; one daughter, Kimberly Leadford, of Davenport, IA; and one granddaughter, Emersyn Leadford, of Davenport, IA.
William was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harvey and Agnes Uhler; one aunt, Josie Radmacher; and one uncle, Harvey Uhler Jr.
Cremation rites will be conducted. No services will be held at this time.
