PACT Presents: How to Hide Your Zombies

Sean Ports
From July 12 to 14, Polo Area Community Theatre will be presenting How to Hide Your Zombies by Edith Weiss in Louise A. Quick Park in Polo, Illinois.

This show is family-friendly and free to attend. In the case of inclement weather, the performance will be moved indoors to the Polo Town Hall. For more information, visit polotheatre.org.

Groups are encouraged to bring a blanket or chairs for sitting. There will be $5 bagged meals available for purchase. With each meal, you have the choice of hamburger or hotdog, chips, and assorted drinks. Vegan options will also be available.

Directed by Michele Hinkle, the show tells the story of four vegetarian vampires hiding from the Vamp Gane – a hungry group of blood-eating vampires. The four vegetarians have given shelter to some wandering zombies. Determined to “humanize” the zombies, the vampires utilize lessons from Shakespeare and Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood.

Audiences will be able to participate in a 50/50 raffle and vote on the theatre’s 20th season. There are 12 shows previously produced by PACT from which to choose. Voting is happening via monetary donations both online and in person. The shows with the most votes will be part of the 20th Season lineup.
On July 20, PACT will be hosting auditions for its 19th Season opening show James and the Giant Peach, the musical. Auditioners 10 years and older are welcome to attend. Bring 32 bars of a prepared song from a musical along with audio accompaniment.
