The Rock Falls Tourism Committee will meet at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 11, in the Council Chambers at Rock Falls City Hall.

During the meeting, the committee will review and approve minutes from its February 11 meeting and hear several tourism-related updates. Reports are expected from Blackhawk Waterways Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Rock Falls Chamber of Commerce.

Tourism Director updates will include progress on the Hometown Heroes pole banner program, as well as updates on several upcoming events, including the Bellson Music Fest, Salute to America 250 activities, and the Beers & Gears event.

The committee will also review several event sponsorship grant requests. The Rock River Jazz Band is requesting $1,000 to support four concerts planned throughout the summer of 2026. Additional grant requests include $1,000 for the Touch-A-Truck scheduled for May 30 and $1,000 for the Taste of Fiesta planned for Sept. 12.

Two façade grant requests will also be considered. Kapp’s Banquet Facility and Hill’s Electric Motor Service have each requested $5,000.

Other agenda items include marketing updates, park use requests, and a review of the fiscal year 2027 tourism budget. Park use requests include proposed use of RB&W Park by the Rock River Jazz Band for concerts on May 30, June 13, July 11, and Aug. 22, as well as use of the park for the Taste of Fiesta event on Sept. 12.

The committee will also discuss local hotel activity and other items brought forward by committee members before adjourning.

The next regular meeting of the Rock Falls Tourism Committee is scheduled for April 8.
