Here are a few tips to make you look and sound fabulous!
We're Upstairs!
Our studio is on the second floor. If stairs are tricky or off-limits, let us know ahead of time—we’re happy to bring things downstairs for you.
Arrive early, stay cool.
Try to get here 5–10 minutes before your scheduled recording time to meet the crew and settle in before recording.
How many guests?
Let us know in advance how many people will be on camera. We can accommodate up to three guests in one segment.
Skip the latte.
Caffeine and dairy can dry you out or make you phlegmy (ew, but true). Stick to water and your vocal cords will thank you.
Keep your style simple.
Avoid thin stripes or bold patterns—they confuse the camera and might give your shirt a weird “dancing” effect.
Shine-free is best.
Shimmery makeup looks great in person, but a matte finish works best on video so you don’t look overly shiny.
Say no to jingle-jangle
Noisy jewelry is a no-go. Stick with simple accessories that won’t bump into the mic or steal the spotlight.
Dress for the mic.
The mic clips near the center of your chest, so choose a button-down, cardigan, or polo for easy placement.
Under the weather?
If you’re coughing, sneezing, or sniffly, please contact our office manager to reschedule. We promise—we’ll still be excited to see you!
Bringing a pet?
Dogs need to be leashed and smaller animals in carriers. Let us know if your pet doesn’t do well with others—we have an office cat we can send home with notice.
Just a chat—really!
There’s no script, no pressure, and it’s not live. Just a friendly conversation with our host while the camera does its thing. Be yourself, and enjoy the moment!
Stay in the loop!
Make sure we have your email or cell number so
we can let you know when your segment is live and ready to share with your friends and family.
